The absence of nichel makes Sterling Silver less likely to cause allergies compared to nickel containing alloys, which are known allergens. Sterling Silver is highly valued for its hardness compared to pure silver and for its shiny, lustrous appearance.
- 18Kt Gold Plated Silver 925: This is silver undergone a plating process with a layer of gold. It is important to note that, with use and over time, the gold layer may wear off.
- Rhodium Plated Silver 925: Rhodium plated silver is silver coated with a thin layer of rhodium, a precious metal that belongs to the platinum group. Rhodium provides a shiny, corrosion resistant finish and additional protection. However, rhodium plated silver also requires care and maintenance to preserve its brilliance and protection.
